Come Groovin’ at Winefest
PROJECT GROOVE FEATURING MISS EMILY, a four-piece band from the Grand Valley, is described as funk-jazz-blues-fusion. Steve Williams, with over 30 years experience playing the bass, and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Schultz, who was bit by a guitar at age 11, have played together for several years. Joining PROJECT GROOVE FEATURING MISS EMILY is vocalist Emily Erkman, who started singing at the age of 2 and has lived and performed in New York City. Rounding out their sound is drummer Rob Labig who owns and operates a drum studio and is a member of Talking Rhythms percussion ensemble.
KNIGHT GROOVE, a Denver based band, works that funky beat with great rhythms, soulful singing, tight arrangements, and powerful riffs and solos. With well over a combined 100 years of soulful experience, the members of Knight Groove will take you on an advanced musical adventure. Guitarist/Songwriter Eric James moved to Denver with an incurable drive to start a funky jazz band. Bassist/Songwriter and international performer Peter Trahan has dedicated years to jazz and groove beats. Drummer and lead singer Mahlon Knight, lays it down with authority. Sax player Mark Strivings finishes the group off with top shelf solos and riffs making Knight Groove not only fun but engaging. Together, KNIGHT GROOVE delivers their diversity of musical interests with old school funk, newer jazz funk, some blues/rock arrangements, and some latin jam arrangements.
